Attorney Ruiz’s journey into law is rooted in a lifelong commitment to community, justice, and advocacy. From his earliest years, he worked to uplift disadvantaged communities—work that shaped him into the dedicated attorney he is today.

“I began working with social justice initiatives at around 15 years old in Washington, D.C. While attending the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), I fought alongside fellow students to keep the university open when the city proposed relocating it from its historic campus to a less desirable part of town. Through our protests and advocacy, we convinced the City Council to reject the measure.”

That work earned Ruiz recognition within the community and from local leaders, including D.C. Councilmember Adrian Fenty. It was during this time that Ruiz began working closely with Latino communities, advocating for greater social and legal protections.

His efforts eventually led him to Dallas, where attorney Domingo Garcia recruited him to advocate for immigrant rights. Together, they achieved significant victories, including the renaming of a city street in honor of American civil rights leader Cesar Chavez, along with other initiatives to support immigrants and marginalized groups.

These experiences inspired Ruiz to pursue law as a profession. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Today, he is humbled to serve as an attorney who helps people from all walks of life fight for their rights.

At The Ruiz Law Firm in Pearland, Texas, he leads a dedicated team of attorneys and paralegals focused on personal injury, workplace accidents, auto accidents, and select criminal and immigration cases.

“The reason we cover a mix of practice areas is because I know firsthand how important accessibility is—especially for Spanish-speaking clients. While many law offices employ bilingual staff, very few attorneys themselves are fully bilingual. I am fluent in Spanish, and I’ve made it a priority to ensure that language is never a barrier to justice for my clients.”

Ruiz began his career in personal injury law, but quickly realized that clients needed more than just one type of representation. Instead of sending them elsewhere, he built a practice where people could rely on him and his team directly.

“In my office, communication is everything. Most of my clients have my personal cell phone number, and I require my staff to return calls quickly. More importantly, we make it a point to truly know each client, their families, and their cases. That personal connection is what makes the difference.”
